About us

At Cross-Cultural Ministries we believe every child deserves a chance to succeed.

Our programs equip children to master the foundations of math and phonics-based English at after-school centers in their own apartment complexes. When children acquire these basic but critical skills, they learn how to learn, stay in school, and become healthy, self-sufficient citizens.

Since 1992, our after-school programs have provided students with easily accessible learning assistance to build a foundation for lifelong learning that will allow them to excel academically and personally.

Our guiding principles

OUR MISSION AND VISION

We strive to put God’s love into action through education and discipleship programs for non-English speaking children, youth and adults in community-based centers in partnership with individuals, churches, businesses, and organizations.

We seek to enable children, youth, and adults to realize their potential and empower them to achieve their goals.

We believe that all people (even ourselves) deserve respect.
about-icn1-new

With our actions and words, we honor everyone that we come into contact with.

We believe every child deserves a safe and loving place to learn.
about-icn2-new

We provide a safe space for students to learn foundational math and English skills, get help with homework, study, hear the gospel and be mentored and discipled.

We believe integrity is the foundation of our relationships and resources.
about-icn3-new

We take the stewardship of the gifts we are given and the mission that we carry seriously and seek to honor our donors, volunteers, and, above all, God, in everything we do.

We believe scripture is our cornerstone and seek to live it out in every area of our lives.
about-icn4-new

The most valuable resource we can share with those in our care is the gospel of Christ. We share our faith by living the Word.

Supporting Cross-Cultural Ministries is an opportunity to change a child's life and impact a community.

Statement of Faith

We adhere to the following creeds:
Apostles' Creed (Modern English Version)

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day, he rose again; he ascended to heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy universal Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Nicene Creed

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one being with the Father. Through Him, all things were made. For us and for our salvation, He came down from heaven; by the power of the Holy Spirit, He became incarnate from the virgin Mary and was made man. For our sake, He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered death and was buried. On the third day, He rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and His kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son, He is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets.

We believe in one holy, universal and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Get involved

Help vulnerable children learn how to learn, stay in school, and become healthy, self-sufficient citizens.

You don't have to leave the country to find a mission field. There's one right outside your door.

Providing the basic skills of reading, writing, and math to non-English speaking students in a gospel-centered environment both empowers them to succeed in school and shows them that there is hope for their lives in Jesus Christ.
